A Royal Day Out: Our Buckingham Palace Adventure!
A lively group of 38 of us set off on a fantastic day trip to London, eager to soak in royal history and step inside the grand State Rooms of Buckingham Palace.
Our journey began smoothly at 9:15 AM as we boarded the coach and headed towards the capital. Making great time, we arrived at the iconic St. Paul's Cathedral by 11:00 am, where we met our expert Blue Badge guide. With 90 minutes of free time, everyone scattered to explore the stunning surroundings, take in Christopher Wren's masterpiece, and grab a delicious bite to eat.
Regrouping on the steps of the cathedral at 1:00 pm, our guide kicked things off by sharing fascinating local lore and architectural secrets of the City of London. Back aboard the coach, we enjoyed a captivating panoramic tour of the capital's royal landmarks, filled with entertaining stories, royal traditions, and rich history tied to the Crown.
The highlight of the day was pulling up to Buckingham Palace itself. Stepping inside the lavish State Rooms was truly breathtaking—magnificent art, gilded ceilings, and royal opulence everywhere you looked. While it certainly gave our legs a good stretch, the sheer splendor kept everyone completely captivated. We rounded off the visit in the palace tea rooms, enjoying some well-deserved refreshments and chatting about our favourite rooms.
After a relaxing journey home, the coach dropped us back at around 7:30 pm. From historic cathedral steps to regal palace halls, it was a thoroughly enjoyable and memorable day out for all!
A Wonderful Day Out to Southend with JetStream Tours
On Saturday, 18th July, a group of 30 of us set off on a fantastic boat trip to Southend with JetStream Tours. We couldn't have asked for better weather, as the sun stayed out for us all day!
The cruise down to Southend took about an hour and a half, made all the more enjoyable by the captain, who provided an engaging and informative running commentary highlighting all the key sights along the way. Upon arriving, everyone was free to explore at their own pace—whether that meant strolling along the seafront, taking in the local sights, or enjoying a bite to eat and a refreshing drink.
After a full afternoon, we boarded the boat for our journey back home. It was certainly a long day, but every moment was worth it, and everyone had a thoroughly wonderful time. A huge thank you to JetStream Tours for taking such good care of us, and to everyone who came along and made the trip so memorable!

Our Return to Potters Lakeside Hotel, Maldon
From June 22nd to 26th, a brilliant group of 34 of us headed back to Potters Lakeside Hotel in Maldon for our highly anticipated group holiday. Having visited before, expectations were high, and the resort certainly didn't disappoint.
We enjoyed a fantastic four nights filled with excellent food, top-tier entertainment, and plenty of opportunities to relax and catch up. Whether joining in on the daily activities or simply enjoying the lakeside surroundings, a wonderful time was had by all.
Thank you to everyone who came along and made the trip such a memorable success. It was fantastic to see such a great turnout, and we are already looking forward to our next group adventur
On Thursday, May 25th 2026, we enjoyed a spectacular day exploring the historic grounds of Hever Castle. Blessed with perfect weather, the stunning gardens were a definitive highlight of the trip. Though compact in scale, the castle itself is an absolute triumph of restoration, offering a vivid glimpse into its storied past. It was an excellent day out, and I hope it left everyone with wonderful memories.
